About the product
The Piusi Panther EX56 Drum Pump Kit is the latest addition to Piusi’s range of fuel transfer pumps, combining the well-established Panther pump design with an ATEX-approved AC motor. Supplied as a complete drum-mounted kit, it is suitable for transferring petrol, kerosene, diesel and HVO in Zone 1 environments.
Unlike the previous Piusi EX50, the EX56 uses an AC motor that is suitable for continuous operation, making it suitable for longer dispensing periods and higher-volume fuel transfers. It also provides an increased flow rate of up to 56 litres per minute.
The pump is self-priming and features a durable cast iron body, providing a robust construction for regular use. As an ATEX-approved pump, the Panther EX56 complies with the relevant European explosion protection requirements and is certified to ATEX II2 G Ex db h IIB T4 Gb for use in Zone 1 applications.
The standard drum pump kit includes a 2" drum connector and 1100mm telescopic downtube, ATEX-rated Auto 60 nozzle, 4m delivery hose and a Cim-Tek Ultimate Defense® Hydroglass water filter. A second version is also available with the addition of a Piusi K33 ATEX Flow Meter, allowing the quantity of fuel dispensed to be measured.
A flexible cable gland is also available separately (code F2702400A) and can be found in the accessories table below.

What is an ATEX pump?
When dispensing petrol, kerosene or diesel in a zone one area, specially certified ATEX pumps need to be used. These are safe for use with lower flash point liquids. Available in our ATEX approved petrol transfer pump range are both mains powered and 12v fuel transfer pumps, that are specified for zone one applications. We also stock manual hand petrol transfer ATEX pumps for a cost effective solution.
What applications can ATEX pumps be used for?
Our ATEX pumps are ideal for dispensing flammable liquids in applications such as: race/rally motorsport, quad/motorbikes, ground maintenance e.g.: lawnmowers, forest tools, golf course buggies, boats/leisure craft e.g.: jet skis, and refilling heating oil tanks when tanker access is difficult.
