CTS Advanced Fuel Conditioning System
Improve the quality of fuel in generator bulk tanks with the CTS Advanced Fuel Conditioner, engineered to target a multi-pass ISO 14/13/11 level.
Are you or your customers at risk of contaminated fuel sitting in back up tanks causing disastrous generator downtime?
Give your customers the solution with the highly intelligent CTS Advanced Fuel Conditioning System as part of their fuel maintenance programme! Designed to prevent diesel bug sludge from developing in the bulk tank and impacting the performance of their generators, the system targets ISO 14/13/11 diesel cleanliness standards and provides operational intelligence including filter degradation data and event and alarm log history.
Diesel Bug in Generator Bulk Tanks: The Solution
When diesel is stored for long periods of time, microbial contamination called diesel bug grows from water content found in the fuel, which when left can block filters and damage engines.
The CTS Advanced Fuel Conditioner targets ISO 14/13/11 diesel cleanliness standards via multi-pass filtration, with lab tests showing water removal to < 60ppm to keep machinery in working order.
When installed, it circulates 1.5x the bulk fuel tank’s capacity every 28 days, which is the time it takes diesel bug to grow. It pulls fuel up through a magnetic conditioner, breaking down diesel bug into a size that fits through traditional fuel tank filters. The fuel then goes through a two-stage water and particle filtration process before being circulated back into the storage tank.
Operational Intelligence & Alerts For Continuous Fuel Conditioning
- Touchscreen control panel with engineer mode option to prevent any tampering with system set up.
- Live flow rate trend charts to indicate the degrading of filters with a filter degraded alert to allow pre-emptive replacement of filters before a filter block alert occurs and the pump turns off.
- Input for low level alarm/gauge or leak probe for when a drip tray is fitted, which if activated will alert on the panel and turn off the pump until the issue is resolved.
- 2 x BMS outputs for remote warning of a filter block, low fuel level or leak.
- Event and alarm log screens to indicate times of pump start/top, engineer log ins, filter blocks, leak alarms and low fuel level alerts.
- Modbus option for communicating status and alerts to a Building Management System
- Version with integrated constant reading level gauge to display tank contents without the need to buy a separate gauge.
Is This a Fuel Polisher? A Key Part of Any Fuel Maintenance Programme
Confusion around terminology means we often see people ask for a fuel polisher when they are actually looking for a less expensive fuel conditioning unit. The difference? Whilst a conditioning unit targets ISO 14/13/122 diesel cleanliness standards, a fuel polishing system guarantees it. A generator fuel system’s design specification may state a single pass fuel polisher is installed, or it may just require fuel to be circulated and filtered regularly over set intervals.
The CTS Fuel Conditioning System is designed to be used as part of a fuel maintenance programme, installed on the tank to help maintain the cleanliness/quality of the fuel in between annual / or periodic fuel tank polishing or testing services. As the diesel in the generator backup tank is kept in good condition with diesel bug not left to grow, it speeds up any annual polishing that is carried out.
