Over 20 years ago, whilst working closely with our tank manufacturer partners, we developed the first CTS fuel tank alarm designed to accurately detect and alert of a set high level, bund leak or low fuel level.
It fast became the leading solution amongst UK tank fabricators and is well recognised on generator and refuelling tanks. The original multizone fuel tank alarm has now been joined in the range by our cost effective single channel tank alarms, as well as probes for other fluids beyond diesel, such as AdBlue, waste oil, water and light chemicals.

The CTS Multizone Fuel Tank Alarm was originally developed as a result of our in house knowledge, and soon enough it became a leading choice among tank manufacturers in the UK.
The fuel tank level alarm audibly and visually alerts the user to an issue, such as a high fuel level to avoid further filling, an overfill and a low fuel level to alert the user to when they are close to running out of fuel and prompt a fuel delivery to be ordered, and the presence of fluid in the bund that needs to be removed and may even indicate a leak of the inner tank.

Today's Full CTS Tank Level Alarm Range
Our fuel tank alarm range is continuously developing to provide high quality solutions to the fluid market and meet our customers' requirements for a level alarm.
As well as the market leading CTS mains powered multi-channel fuel tank alarm, we have a battery powered alarm version for isolated or portable installations. The range also expanded to account for tank owners who wanted to only be alerted to one level as opposed to a combination of high, low and bund. We therefore introduced a single channel tank level alarm designed for only one alert with relay for remote monitoring as well as a more economical battery powered level or bund alarm as a real entry level option.
Industries & Applications of the CTS Alarm
Over the years, we expanded the range to cover single channel tank alarms to save our customers paying more for a solution that monitors up to 3 alerts when only one is needed, in situations including:
- Fuel dispensing tanks: High, low or bund for haulage, construction and agricultural refuelling tanks.
- Generators: As well as level alert, our multizone alarm controls pump operation to fill day tanks from the bulk based upon level.
- AdBlue tanks: As AdBlue usage rises, it is increasingly stored in tanks with AdBlue tank alarms used for high, low and bund.
- Waste oil tanks: Alerts of a high level to warn that it is almost full and the waste oil needs collecting/emptying.
- Water/chemical tanks: Used by several utility and water companies nationally to indicate high and low fluid level.
