About the product
The Contoil VZO 8 Heating Oil Meter is an industry recognised mechanical display meter from Aquametro. Thanks to its ability to measure relatively small volumes of fuel oil consumption with great accuracy, this Aquametro oil meter is designed for light industrial applications such as feeding engines, generators and agricultural grain dryers. A version of the VZO 8 Contoil flow meter comes complete with a reed switch pulse output to send the consumption information to an building management system or external display for convenient remote viewing.
These mechanical fuel flow meters can be retrofitted to any existing boiler/burner systems, and their versatility allows them to be installed indoors, outdoors, vertically, horizontally and diagonally.
Please note: If being used with HVO, the meter should be re-calibrated based on it's SG of 0.78 (diesel is 0.84).

I am looking for a heating oil meter, do I need to match the inlet/outlet to the pipework size?
No, it is a common misconception that the choice of oil meter depends upon the size of the pipework installed. This is because oil heating engineers are commonly over-specifying the supply pipe size, thinking that they will achieve a better flow rate by doing this. Generally speaking, as long as the flow rate requirements of the system match that of the fuel oil meter, then it should be fine.
