Fri, October 10, 2014 - 10:32:00

Police are investigating reports of a diesel theft from a digger parked up on Coast Road, Larne. The incident is said to have taken place between Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th October sometime overnight.

Larne PSNI commander, Chief Insp Stephen McCauley is appealing to the community for information, he said: “Anyone who knows anything about the theft or saw suspicious activity along any stretch of the road is asked to call Larne police on the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, please call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

Due to this case, the Fuel Security Monitor would ask that people take added caution when parking their vehicle. Whether parking during the day or overnight, make sure that the vehicle is securely locked, near to a light source - if not parked in a secured garage or driveway, and valuables are removed from the vehicle or moved so that they are out of sight.
