This depends on the condition of your fuel. The dirtier the fuel in your tank, the quicker the particle filter will get full. Having spare particle filter elements on site will reduce downtime if your filter is full and blocks.
A particle filter can remove and water and particles from the fuel to stop fuel contamination. It is best practice is to have a water and a particle filter on your refuelling system. Particle filters differ on the size of the particles that they can filter out of the fuel, which is measured in microns.
