FAQs
No, you need equipment specifically designed for use with AdBlue™, as these will be made with compatible materials like stainless steel and polypropylene, as AdBlue™ will cause many materials to corrode. Most diesel transfer pumps are made from cast iron, which will be corroded by AdBlue and cause your pump to fail and contaminate the AdBlue™.
No, you will need an ATEX approved pump for Kerosene, which means they are certified as being safe for use in potentially flammable environments. We stock an entire range of ATEX pumps suitable for Kerosene, which has a lower flash point than diesel, which means there is a greater chance of a spark resulting in ignition during the pumping process.
When picking a suitable nozzle and flow meter to go with your fuel transfer pump, you need to make sure they are compatible with the fluid you are pumping and that it can cope with the flow rate your pump will be working at.
We have a range of diesel pumps dependant on what application you require a fuel transfer pump for. To pick the right fuel transfer pump you need to know if there is mains power or if you will need a battery-operated pump. You will need to know the pump voltage, the flow rate required and if you need a complete refilling solution or just the fuel transfer pump. If you are unsure what you need, contact our sales team for advice.
Yes - at CTS, we have carried out extensive testing of all our own product range, including our tank alarms and probes, and can ensure our customers that all our equipment, as well as all Piusi products for diesel, are suitable for use with HVO as "drop-in" replacements for diesel.
There are many types of fuel transfer pumps that can be used with a number of different liquids and fuels, including diesel, oils, AdBlue® and water. However, if you specifically buy a diesel, transfer pump, you must only use it with diesel or drop in alteratives such as HVO and GTL, as other liquids can corrode the material the pump is made from which can stop it working and increase downtime.
Diesel fuel transfer pumps are used in numerous industries such as automotive and fleet, agricultural, construction and plant machinery and for domestic reasons such as fuel suppliers for home heating oil.
