FPS Expo 2015 Review

Mon, April 27, 2015 - 2:25:00

Last week Centre Tank Services exhibited at the FPS Expo – the UK and Ireland’s main annual event for the oil distribution industry.

The show is put together by Federation of Petroleum Suppliers (FPS) Limited, the trade association for the oil distribution industry and ancillary interests in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

The FPS provides a collective voice for its members, as well as services to assist members, and promotes best practice in the industry. It offers government level support for oil distributors, and enables distributors to meet and discuss current issues. Membership is organised on a geographical basis with regional meetings, as well as an organised Annual Exhibition and Distributor Conference.

The FPS Expo was held at the Harrogate International Centre, and this was its final year exhibiting in Harrogate, as the event is moving to Liverpool for the 2016 show - an interesting shake up which may bring more visitors to the show due to the cities transport links, especially with Ireland.

A wide range of senior professionals from across the UK, Europe and even the US visit the FPS to take a look at the latest industry innovations – and with 150+ exhibitors providing every possible product and service, it’s no surprise.

This year, CTS were located on stand number C36 with Trevor from the Technical Department, and Account Managers Emrys, Jon and Alan on hand as our hosts.

Our objectives this year were to showcase our new products, to network with existing customers and to get new business leads and customers. Our showcased new products included the Husky range, the new Piusi AdBlue pump, the K600 B/3 and our hose reel range.

The Husky range took off well, with a great number of interest shown in the X Mate, 1GS, VIII and 1690 nozzles, as well as the Safe-T-Breaks and Nozzle Service Kit.  The forecourt nozzle also gained a lot of interest despite it not yet been released. In addition, we had a lot of interest shown in our AdBlue equipment, in particular our new Stainless Steel AdBlue Rotary Pump – which customers deemed to be a more reliable manual pump, thanks to its sturdy construction and smooth operation.

This year’s show was a great success, with bumper visitors and exhibitors and not forgetting the great weather, the show was said to have been ‘enjoyed by all’.
