Fuel theft round up for 25th July - 14th August

300 litres of diesel have been stolen from a combine harvester in Latchington. The vehicle was situated in a field within the Bridgemans Green area, between 1am and 7am on 24th July. A Stihl leaf blower on board the vehicle was also stolen in the incident..

300 litres of diesel have been stolen from a combine harvester in Latchington.

The vehicle was situated in a field within the Bridgemans Green area, between 1am and 7am on 24th July. A Stihl leaf blower on board the vehicle was also stolen in the incident.

Police are appealing for help, and are asking for anybody who say anything suspicious in the area near to the time of the theft, to come forward with this information by calling 101 or 999 if urgent or an emergency.

30th July – Staffordshire

Diesel has been stolen from wagons at a waste depot in Leek.

Twelve wagons at the Fowlchurch Waste Depot have had their fuel stolen, after it was siphoned out of them, leaving workers turning up on Monday morning very surprised.

It is believed that the theft took place between 4:30pm on Friday 24th July and 6:30am on Monday 27th July.

A police spokesman said: “The thieves had forced the caps off the 12 wagons at the depot to steal the diesel. The incident was reported on Monday morning, but took place between late Friday afternoon and early Monday morning.”

It is unknown whether CCTV is in use at the site or how much diesel has been stolen.

A spokesman for the authority said: “This is a criminal investigation and it is inappropriate to comment at this stage.”

30th July – Cheshire

CCTV is to be installed at a council-run waste depot after fuel thieves targeted twice in the space of a month.

Around 1500 litres of fuel costing roughly £1,500 was stolen from vehicles at Cheshire East Council depot between February 16th and 17th. And in an almost identical theft, approximately 1000 litres of fuel was stolen from vehicles sometime overnight between March 11th and 12th.

Security cameras are to be fitted at the ANSA Waste Management Depot in Macclesfield – boasting 360 degree coverage as well as coverage for a nearby underpass which is a crime hotspot.

4th August – Wales

Theft of diesel from vehicles on Wrexham Industrial Estate

A number of vehicles in the Bridge Road area of Wrexham Industrial Estate had diesel stolen, sometime between 5pm on Wednesday 29th July and 8am on Thursday 20th July.

Police are asking those who have CCTV in the area, which may help with their enquiries, or anybody with any other information, to contact North Wales Police by dialling 101, quoting ref number RC15113990.

5th August – Yorkshire

300 litres of diesel have been stolen from a village construction site in Murton.

Police are asking if anybody with any information to call 101 or Crimestoppers, quoting reference number EF1501245.

14th August – Northern Ireland

500 litres of heating oil stolen from a residential property on Aughadey Road, Banbridge

The theft took place at approximately 9:30pm on Saturday 1st August.

A blue transit van was seen in the immediate area around the time of the theft – Police would like to speak to the driver of the vehicle, as they may be able to help them with their enquiries.
