About the product
The Apollo Oil Tank Gauge is an easy to retrofit, ultrasonic level indicator generally used as a domestic oil tank gauge. The Apollo is made up of a transmitter that is installed at the tank, and a digital receiver that can be plugged inside the building to conveniently display the tank level without the user having to remember to go outside to check. This oil tank level indicator measures the tank’s contents and transmits the level to the receiver, provided that is within its 200 metre range. The standard version of this oil tank level monitor is suitable for plastic tanks only. However, an adaptor can be purchased as an accessory to make it work on steel tanks.
The Apollo Visual heating oil tank gauge version also read levels at the tank locally, which is not available on the standard Apollo gauge. This allows fuel delivery drivers to visually check the oil in the tank gives a visual indication when the tank is nearing its maximum capacity.

How does this heating oil tank gauge work?
This heating oil tank gauge uses an ultrasonic level sensor located at the top of the tank which sends out the sound waves in the form of bursts in a downward direction to the fluid in the tank. As soon as the directed sound waves hit the surface of the fluid, sound echoes get reflected and returned to the sensor. The time taken by the sound wave to return is directly proportional to the distance between the electric sensor and the fluid in the tank. This time duration is measured by the oil tank level gauge’s sensor which is then used to calculate the level of liquid in the tank.
What is the difference between the Apollo standard and visual heating oil tank gauge?
Both oil tank level gauges use the same principle of measuring the tank level by using a transmitter fits on top of the tank and the receiver plugs into a socket inside the property to conveniently display the tank level. However, the Apollo Visual model also has a transmitter bar graph display for monitoring the tank reading locally as well as remotely.
